Are you looking for a practical, hands-on role where your skills really make a difference?
We are looking for a capable Maintenance Person to join our small, friendly team at Dunstan Hospital in beautiful Central Otago. This is a flexible opportunity, from 3 days per week through to full-time and could suit a semi-retired tradie or a job share arrangement.
This is a varied, “no two days the same” role where you’ll help keep our hospital running smoothly, safely, and looking its best for our patients, staff, and community.
What you’ll be doing:
Carrying out general maintenance including plumbing, painting, electrical testing, and repairs
Keeping facilities and equipment safe, functional, and well maintained
Responding to day-to-day maintenance requests across the site
Supporting a clean, safe, and compliant environment
Maintaining and grooming our vehicle fleet
Supporting our community with our Meals on Wheels scheme
Assisting with urgent or after-hours call-backs when required
What we’re looking for:
Solid all-round practical skills and a good eye for detail
Experience in general building maintenance (plumbing and painting experience an advantage)
Someone reliable, organised, and comfortable working independently
A proactive problem solver who can get stuck in and find solutions
Strong awareness of safety and compliance standards
Good communication skills and a team focused attitude
Someone who can work within our financial budgets and follow our approval process
