Quality and Patient Safety Lead

Central Otago Health Services Limited is seeking an experienced and motivated healthcare professional to lead and further develop our Quality & Patient Safety programme at Dunstan Hospital.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping quality improvement, patient safety, and risk management across a highly respected rural health service.
About You
You are an experienced clinical practitioner who is passionate about delivering safe, high-quality healthcare and making a meaningful impact in your community.
In this role, you will provide leadership for the organisation's quality, risk, and patient safety activities, ensuring effective systems, processes, and reporting frameworks are in place to support continuous improvement. You will enjoy working collaboratively with clinical and operational teams and have the ability to influence positive change across the organisation.
About Us
Dunstan Hospital is a 24-bed rural hospital located in the heart of Central Otago and operated by Central Otago Health Services Limited.
Our services include:
24-hour acute assessment
Inpatient acute care
Rehabilitation and palliative care
A 3-bed High Dependency Unit
Outpatient services including chemotherapy, endoscopy, and mobile day surgery
A range of community health services
You will be joining a well-established and supportive team committed to providing excellent rural healthcare. We value collaboration, adaptability, and a strong sense of community.
Working closely with Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora Southern, local general practices, and community providers, we support a population of more than 40,000 people across a large geographic area, including Alexandra, Cromwell, Wānaka, Roxburgh, Clyde and the Upper Clutha.
