Meet our Board Members

Richard Thomson

Richard trained as a Clinical Psychologist at the University of Otago and began his career as a lecturer in Psychological Medicine before stepping away to lead the successful campaign to stop an aluminium smelter at Aramoana. During that time, he co-founded a small retail venture that grew into the Acquisitions chain, now spanning 20 stores nationwide. Alongside his business career, Richard has maintained a deep commitment to health governance, serving on the Otago and Southern DHB boards, including seven years as Chair, and later as Deputy Commissioner. He has also held senior governance roles across local government and commercial entities, including two terms on the Dunedin City Council.

Francie Diver

Community advocate and proud Māori kaumatua, Francie Diver believes health equity is achieved through clear communication, strong connections, empathy, and action. With extensive experience bridging cultural and healthcare systems, she brings a commitment to ensuring all communities receive the care they deserve. Paul Moodie

Highly experienced business advisor and governance specialist. Focused on constant improvement and ensuring we honour both our charitable purpose, and the trust the community has put in us.

Steve Quin is a long-standing Clyde local who brings deep community advocacy and a strong commitment to improving rural health outcomes across our region. With more than 10 years of health governance experience and over 35 years in New Zealand’s financial markets, Steve offers robust strategic insight and a steady hand in complex decision‑making environments. His professional background includes an extensive career in corporate financial advisory, with particular expertise in banking and financial structuring. Steve previously held Authorised Financial Adviser (AFA) status and continues to draw on this experience in his governance work. He is also an active member of Business Mentors New Zealand, supporting emerging leaders and small businesses. Steve also has a significant background in education, having served for more than a decade as Chair of a college-level education board, where he championed equitable access, strong governance, and community-focused outcomes. Across all facets of his work, Steve is driven by a simple philosophy: give back where you can and strengthen the community you call home.
