Health Social Worker - Dunstan Hospital
Permanent up to 0.6FTE
Central Otago Health Services Limited is seeking a New Zealand Registered Social Worker to join our Allied Health team based at Dunstan Hospital in Clyde. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a supportive multidisciplinary team while making a meaningful difference to the health and wellbeing of individuals, whānau, and communities across Central Otago.
The role offers a varied and rewarding caseload across both inpatient and community settings, working with people of all ages. You will demonstrate excellent communication, advocacy, and relationship-building skills. You will be confident working alongside individuals and whānau as well as community providers to support positive outcomes. A commitment to person-centred practice, cultural responsiveness, and collaborative care is essential. You will have strong clinical skills to meet the diverse needs of our growing rural population. Experience in health social work is preferable but not essential.
We are seeking someone who thrives in a rural interdisciplinary environment, values teamwork, and enjoys the diversity that rural practice provides. You will be able to work independently, adapt to changing priorities, and contribute positively to the wider Allied Health team. Strong professional judgement, sound assessment skills, and the ability to navigate complex health and social situations are key attributes for success in this role.

Applicants must hold current registration with the Social Workers Registration Board, have a current practising certificate, and have New Zealand residency or hold a valid New Zealand work visa.
