Kitchen Team Member - Dunstan Hospital

Permanent Part Time hours available

Looking for regular part-time hours and the opportunity to earn extra income?

Whether you're saving for a house, balancing study, supporting a family, or simply looking for a rewarding role with regular hours, this could be the perfect fit.

Dunstan Hospital is seeking a reliable and motivated team member to join our friendly, well-established kitchen team. This permanent part-time role offers 10 fixed hours per week, with opportunities for additional shifts covering annual leave, sick leave, public holidays, and other roster gaps as required.

This is a varied role where you will be cross-trained across all kitchen functions, helping to support food preparation, patient meal services, and our on-site café. We are particularly looking for someone who is confident, or willing to be trained, in barista and front-of-house café duties, and who can step into these areas when needed.

We are looking for someone who loves food, enjoys cooking, and takes pride in doing a great job. Previous commercial kitchen experience would be an advantage, but it's not essential. What's more important is a positive attitude, a willingness to learn, and a commitment to providing a great experience for our patients, visitors, and staff. Full training will be provided across all aspects of the role.

Why join us?

·        Permanent part-time hours with 10 guaranteed hours per week

·        Opportunities for additional shifts and extra income

·        Weekend rates paid at 1.5x your hourly rate

·        Public holiday rates paid at 2x your hourly rate

·        Variety across food preparation, patient meal service, café support and barista duties

·        Full training provided (no formal qualifications required)

·        Uniform supplied

·        Friendly and supportive team environment

·        Meaningful work that makes a real difference to patients every day

What we're looking for

·        Ideally previous commercial kitchen experience

·        Barista experience preferred or a willingness to learn

·        Reliability and a strong work ethic

·        A genuine passion for food and people

·        Good time management and the ability to work independently

·        A willingness to learn and work across multiple areas of the department

·        Friendly communication and customer service skills

·        Attention to detail and high standards of hygiene

·        A reasonable level of fitness, as the role includes some physical tasks

·        Flexibility to attend mandatory training and compliance requirements annually

Training will be provided in line with our Food Control Plan, Health & Safety, and Infection Prevention policies.

If you're looking for a role with regular hours, a great team, and the chance to make a difference while earning extra income, we would love to hear from you.
