Speech Language Therapist

Fixed Term Part Time, Parental Leave Cover

Central Otago Health Services Limited is looking for an experienced New Zealand registered Speech-language Therapist (SLT) to join our dynamic team Allied Health team based at Dunstan Hospital.  The successful candidate will be a team player with excellent clinical and communication skills. 

The service provides inpatient, out-patient, and community SLT services so a generalist skill set is preferred. Please note this is not a new graduate role.

We require someone who can work up to 0.6 FTE up until the end of February 2027 to cover parental leave. We are open to discussing the option of working remotely.

The successful applicant will be required to have:

  • Sound clinical experience in inpatient, community, and outpatient settings.  This will include knowledge of video fluoroscopy and dysphagia management.

  • An ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people including working with the elderly, and people with communication difficulties.

  • Excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills

  • High levels of motivation and passion for supporting people with communication and swallowing difficulties.

  • A client centred approach to practice

  • The ability to work autonomously with a practical and solution focus

  • A desire to work in a rural inter-disciplinary setting

Salary indication of $88,627 - $107,600 pro rata depending on experience
