New Skin Lesion Service for Dunstan

New Dunstan Hospital Skin Lesion clinic:

We are delighted to advise that we have been working with the Health New Zealand (HNZ) Ear Nose & Throat (ENT) Service in Dunedin and have opened a new service at Dunstan Hospital.

Dr Greg Harmsworth, a Skin Cancer Physician, is now providing minor surgical procedures to remove skin lesions on people’s head and neck area in our Out-Patient department. This is a public service provided through referrals to the ENT service at HNZ Southern and the clinics are being held two to four days every month.

Demand for this service is growing in our region and HNZ have worked hard with us to be able to set up the new procedure clinic at Dunstan Hospital. We’ve got some new equipment and have trained up Registered Nurses to work alongside Dr Harmsworth.

This new service at Dunstan Hospital means more people across the Central Otago region do not have to travel to Dunedin for healthcare and can access this critical service closer to home.
